Training Programs. We try to give our employees everything they need to succeed in a career with Godiva. Our internal and external training programs are essential ingredients in aidin gour employees' growth and development. A sample of the internal training programs offered within our Retail Operations Business is outlined below.
Desktop/Management:
We are dedicated to building employees knowledge and personal development. We have partnerships to provide computer desktop application and management skills training.
Safety:
Godiva is committed to providing a safe work environment for all employees. Whether in a retail boutique or on the plant floor, employees are trained on how to work safely. Safety training programs include ergonomics, proper lifting techniques, and violence in the workplace.
Becoming a Star Performer (Professional Selling System):
A comprehensive self-study guide to selling for all full-time sales associates and managers. The workbook, manual and videos cover topics like Opening the Sale, Probing, Demonstrating Merchandise, Handling Objections, Closing and Confirming the Sale.
Management Training Program (MTP):
Whether you are promoted to a Store Manager or hired as one, Godiva supports a successful transition with a self-study guide on how to be a Manager. You will learn how to establish goals & statistics, coaching, hiring, standards, meetings, employee empowerment and fun & games within the store.
Advanced Retail Training (ART):
The next step for Godiva Retail management. ART is a classroom-based program that includes time management, communication preferences, labor budget cost percentage, recruiting and hiring.
Multi-Store Supervision (MSS):
Designed for District Managers and Regional Managers who supervise multiple boutiques. Topics include recruiting, interviewing, staff retention, proactive supervision, statistical analysis, model store, progressive discipline and action plans.
Product Knowledge:
A fun guide to everything you ever wanted to know about chocolate! This visual guide takes you through the rainforests of South America to the Draps family cellar through the minds of our Chef Chocolatiers.
Retail Immersion:
A new program developed by Marketing and Human Resources. Corporate staff members are immersed in the retail and wholesale fields for 1 week (retail boutique 3 days/wholesale location 2 days). Retail training includes but is not limited to: opening and closing of stores, selling skills, merchandising, product knowledge and customer relations. Wholesale training includes but is not limited to: servicing a 3 to 4 store account with emphasis on merchandising, selling, meeting with store buyers, and the challenges within wholesale.
