My Favorite Godiva Chocolate:
“Every week it’s a different piece!”
The Godiva chocolate that best represents my personality:
Open Oyster: “Because it’s open...everybody’s welcome!” |

What qualities does it take for someone to be successful at Godiva?
A little bit of everything. You have to be enthusiastic, have great selling skills. You have to be open. You have to be a chocolatier all the way. You have to like the environment you’re in. I like what I do and the whole company itself from bottom to top. When we interview people, we look at if they are enthusiastic, if they have some sort of customer service sense.
|
What’s the work culture like at Godiva?
Everyone’s very approachable. We have an open door policy. I’m so lucky that I work with good people. They’re responsible, mature and willing to have a smile on their face all the time.
|
How does working at Godiva compare to your previous work experiences?
The retail work I did before (shoe store, department store) was not as pleasant as my life with Godiva. I learned everything that I know right now from Godiva. I grew with them.
|
What do you do in your current position to help achieve Godiva’s "Gold Standard of customer service"?
Our customers are first. We are here for them. They pay us – that’s the way I see it. We have to satisfy their needs and give them such a great experience that they want to come back and see us again.
|
How does Godiva show it cares for its employees?
As managers, we have incentives. We have the Golden Touch for the employees, which is a great program. We have contests within the store that we motivate staff with, as well as district and regional contests. As for benefits, Campbell's Soup gives us everything we need.
|
What's the most challenging thing about working at Godiva?
The holidays! It’s a crazy time of the year. The challenge is making sure that we provide the same standard of customer service for the amount of customers that come in the two weeks prior to Christmas and Valentine's Day.
